Speakers, Scholars and Staff

Seminars and site visits will be led by prominent scholars, with an explicit focus on classroom teaching. The scholars and staff invited to participate in this NEH Landmarks workshop were chosen because of their extensive knowledge of Southern History from Reconstruction through Civil Rights. They also show an immense enthusiasm for their work, and the opportunity to help teachers connect what they learn here to their own work as teachers. NEH Summer Scholars who come to Thomasville, regardless of whether their knowledge of Southwest Georgia is extensive or just beginning to be built, will find that these award-winning workshop faculty are uniquely positioned to help them develop a more profound understanding of Southern history and connect it to their students in powerful new ways.
